Expansion Slot

Alternatively referred to as a bus slot or expansion port, an expansion slot is connection or port located inside a computer on the motherboard or riser board that allows a computer hardware expansion card to be connected. For example, if you wanted to install a new video card in the computer, you'd purchase a video expansion card and install that card into the compatible expansion slot.

E-mail

Short for electronic mail, e-mail or email is information stored on a computer that is exchanged between two users over telecommunications. More plainly, e-mail is a message that may contain text,files, images, or other attachments sent through a network to a specified individual or group of individuals. The first e-mail was sent by Ray Tomlinson in 1971. By 1996, more electronic mail was being sent than postal mail.
An external command is an MS-DOS command that is not included in command.com. External commands are commonly external either because they require large requirements or are not commonly used commands. The illustration shows each of the external commands are their own separate files. However, the internal commands are all included in the command.com file.
Alternatively referred to as an add-on card, expansion board, internal card,interface adapter, or card, an expansion card is a PCB that fits into an expansion slot on a desktop computer. An expansion card is used to give a computer additional capabilities, such as enhanced video performance via a graphics card.
Note: Expansion cards can sometimes be called daughterboards. However, it is more appropriate to refer to them as expansion cards or one of the terms mentioned earlier.

An environment variable is a dynamic "object" on a computer that stores a value, which in turn can be referenced by one or more software programs in Windows. Environment variables help programs know what directory to install files in, where to store temporary files, where to find user profile settings, and other things. It can be said that environment variables help to create and shape the environment of where a program runs.
Environment variables are dynamic because they can change. The values they store can be changed to match the current computer system's setup and design (environment). They can also differ between computer systems because each computer can have a different setup and design (environment).
Alternatively referred to as File Explorer or Windows Explorer, Explorer is a file browser found in every version of Microsoft Windows since Windows 95. It is used tonavigate and manage the drives, folders, and files on a computer. Although similar, Explorer is not the same as "My Computer," nor is it "Microsoft Internet Explorer," even though Internet Explorer is sometimes improperly referred to as Explorer.
Codenamed Odyssey, Excel is a software program from Microsoft that is part of the Microsoft Office suite of software programs. Excel is capable of creating and editing spreadsheets that are saved with a .xls or .xlsx file extension. General uses of Excel include cell-based calculation, pivot tables, and various graphing tools. For instance, with an Excel spreadsheet, you could create a monthly budget, track business expenses, or sort and organize large amounts of data.
Unlike a word processor, such as Microsoft Word, the Excel documents consist of columns and rows of data, made up of individual cells.
 Short for Escape, Esc is a key located on the top-left of a computerkeyboard that allows a user to cancel or abort operations. For example, if a slow web page was loading on an Internet browser you could press the escape key to stop the download and not have to wait for a download. In the picture to the right, is a close up picture of what the Esc key looks like on a computer keyboard.
Originally known as Alto Aloha Network,Ethernet is a widely used local-area network (LAN)protocol originally created by Xerox PARC in 1973by Robert Metcalfe and others (U.S. Patent # 4,063,220). Being the first network to provide Carrier Sense Multiple Access / Collision Detection (CSMA/CD), Ethernet is a fast and reliable network solution that is still widely used today.
